JUNE 2011 - SPOKANE PUBLIC MARKET
Back in 2011 we did stink at the new Spokane Public Market. It was very exciting and loads of fun. We sold our soaps "deli style" buy the ounce. Cut on site and wrapped in butcher paper with a simple name and weight sticker. Often times the loaves of soap which were displayed in deli stle cabinets were mistaken for fudge or cheese.
The original organizers of the market had a great vision for it to be western Washington version of the Pike St. market in Seattle. Many of us "ground floor" members put our own sweat and labor into renovations of the old charming downtown brick building. Sadly, unbeknownst to us (all the other vendors), the building owner defaulted on the mortgage and it was sold to deveopers that didn't have the same vision. The market died a slow and painful death.
A LITTLE SPOTLIGHT IN ORGANIC GARDENING
Way back in the day we were contacted by Organic Gardening Magazine. Their Rodale Gardeners were looking for the best hand scrub for gardeners and asked us to submit ours for testing. We were humbled and grateful to have made the cut alongside such giants as Burt's Bees and L'Occitane.
