Fresh Baked Bread Soap......
or lotion, bath bombs, body spray or any bath product for that matter. Would you use it?
What about a candle? Would you swoon over a soy candle made to fill your house with the scent of Fresh Baked Bread?
We just received a sample in the mail of this trendy new fragrance oil and I have to be honest with you it made most of the staff want to ..... well, you know..... toss their cookies to be blunt.
There is just a certain essence about real bread when it is baking that cannot be captured in a bottle. No matter how hard a lab tries to fake us out. The real thing is embedded in our memory, in our soul, maybe even in our DNA. It is one of those "comfort" scents associated with Grandma's house, holidays, and cold winter days. Or maybe your one of the lucky with a bread machine and it permeates your home more often.
However, it is not something that should come from a bottle, slathered on our skin, sudzed in the shower or wafting from a warm pool of wax in the guest bath. To do so destroys the very appeal, the "warm fuzzy-ness", the anticipation, the melt-in-your-mouth joy that comes from cutting off that end piece and slathering it with butter.
And that is the way we see it here at VSC. We just cannot bring ourselves to adulterate this wonderful food by injecting it's scent into non food items. So if you stop by looking for Hot Buttered Bread Body Butter, or Fresh Bread Soy Tarts, you won't find them. But we might offer you a warm slice of REAL buttered bread fresh from the bread machine, LOL.
